The Prelude XX had retractable headlights built into its sleek, aerodynamically honed body, joined by a sporty interior and a tinted sunroof, and technologically was at the front of the pack in its day. Power was provided by a 125hp 1.8-liter inline-four engine, while - unusually for that era - the 4-wheel independent suspension had a front double wishbone design. Its optional anti-lock braking (ABS) system was the first on a Japanese road car, and highlighted Honda's advanced engineering prowess.
