Academy Leonardo da Vinci Machine Series - Rolling Ball Timer

Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian scientist and artist, born during the Renaissance era and widely regarded as the most talented industrial inventor and designer, including many aspects of modern science and technology.

This kit is based on a sketch of an escapement mechanism drawn by Leonardo da Vinci. It uses the laws of motion, as well as the concepts of gravity and kinetics to measure the passage of time.

The rolling ball timer employs precision gears to power a moving platform in a "see saw" pattern which in turn propels a rollng ball.
